We are seeking a Landscape Designer to create attractive, functional outdoor living spaces for homeowners and businesses, as well as estimate your own plans and sell your work. Designers work closely with clients, crews, and superintendents to bring a client’s vision to life. They use creativity and the beauty of nature to design aesthetically pleasing and functional areas such as lawns, walkways, and outdoor living spaces.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Follow up on sales leads, meet with clients sometimes during off-hours, and make sales to achieve sales goals set by management
- Perform site analyses that include the assessment of current plants, soil conditions, slope/grade, lighting, the view, and architectural style of the property to facilitate plan generation and accurate estimates
- Create beautiful functional designs by utilizing software and hand rendering
- Use software to create 3D elevation views and project flyovers
- Research topics such as plant health and their ability to survive within our climate, guidelines, and meet codes
- Create accurate estimates based on detailed takeoffs created from your landscape and irrigation designs and specifications
- Request and analyze subcontractor and vendor quotes and incorporate those prices into your estimate
- Revise proposal templates to customize them to your specific project
- Meet with superintendents and business unit leader to review plans prior to start
- Stay current on the progress of your projects to ensure that plans are followed and on pace to meet or beat the estimate
- Collect payments for your projects
Requirements:
- Degree in Landscape Design
- Must work in the office – not a remote position
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Pro
- AutoCAD experience is necessary
- Sales experience is a must, as well as a proven track record of success in sales
- Estimating experience is desired but can be trained
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Self-starting initiative to pursue sales without the prompting of management
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Surveying experience and equipment knowledge
- Must be highly adaptable to the kinds of changes that come along with working in an entrepreneurial environment
- Must possess and maintain a valid Colorado driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Must speak fluent English
- Must pass a background check consisting of employment history, personal/professional references, criminal record, and drug screening
- Must be willing to assist and support other departments, when necessary, even if it falls outside of the job description
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
- Fast-paced, fun, and casual office environment
- Must be flexible with the schedule to accommodate client needs
- Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, and lift/move up to 50 lbs.
- Walking, bending, twisting, reaching, crawling, stretching, and standing on occasion is required
- The job is partly an indoor office setting. The other part of the job is spent out-of-office in sales meetings/pitches, client site meetings, visiting vendors, and evaluations. This will require you to be outdoors.
