Plant Health Care Laborer

Timberline Landscaping, Inc. is an award winning company serving Colorado Springs and the surrounding areas, “Creating a little bit of Heaven” for 35 years. We offer a full range of services- landscape design, construction, and maintenance.
This position will include providing services to both residential and commercial customers through plant healthcare.
This job is an outdoor job with exposure to adverse weather conditions, chemicals, and is physically demanding work.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Apply fertilizer and pesticides to lawns, trees, and shrubs according to schedule, safety procedures, and label instructions
• Properly calibrate equipment to evenly apply product
• Determine the appropriate amount of pesticides/fertilizer needed based on the label
• Assist in maintenance and upkeep of company equipment
• Other functions as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:
• Excellent customer service skills
• Must wear company approved uniform
• Must be able to speak, read, and write basic English
• Ability to perform basic math calculations when mixing chemicals

DESIRED QUALITIES TO INCLUDE:
• Bilingual in English and Spanish
• Working knowledge of lawn care products and common lawn problems
• Experience applying a variety of lawn and tree care products: fertilizers, herbicides, fungicides, and insecticides
• National Association of Landscape Professionals – Certified Technician or Lawn care Technician

PHYSICAL DEMAND & WORK ENVIRONMENT:
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds (must ask for help above 50 lbs.)
• This job, at minimum, requires stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, control of hand tools, and pulling of weeds
• This position is primarily an outdoor job which will require working hours outside in all temperatures and weather conditions.
• Long pants, long sleeved shirts required due to the nature of spraying chemicals.
• Employee should be comfortable with, and have physical and manual dexterity to operate hand tools and small – medium sized machinery and should be comfortable working with digging equipment/tools.

Maintenance Technician

Primary Operational Objective:
If you enjoy working with your hands, spending your working day outdoors and enjoy hard work, this is the position for you! Maintenance Technicians form the core of Timberline Landscaping and works primarily outdoors. This position requires, but is not limited to; hard physical work, customer service, and time management. While Timberline strives to maintain a 40 hour work week, this job will occasionally require overtime and weekends. Seasonal snow removal may be an option/requirement depending on company needs.

Duties and responsibilities:
• Operates up to a 60” mower
• Operates a trimmer, edger, and back pack blower
• Identify/remove weeds and proper pruning of plants
• Pick up trash/debris
• Follows safety guidelines and use of PPE equipment
• Snow removal

Landscaping Technician

Construction Technicians work with a team on landscape projects to ensure client satisfaction, utilizing their training and skills to present excellent landscapes that are the best of Colorado Springs. During the winter season, employee will be available to work snow removal and/or Christmas Décor, installation of holiday lighting for both commercial and residential properties.

Duties & Responsibilities
• Landscaping Crew
o Assist with grading of site
o Installation of plant material and/or sod
o Installation of aggregate material and/or edging
o Installation of retaining walls, patios and/or walkways
o Installation of rock, mulch, pavers, water features
o Reading and execution of landscape design plan

Irrigation Crew
o Installation of irrigation pipe, wire, valves
o Assembly and installation of irrigation heads and drip systems

Qualifications
• Must possess and maintain a valid Colorado driver’s license with a clean driving record OR have reliable transportation to/from office and/or job site.
• Must pass background check consisting of employment history, personal/professional references, criminal record and drug screening.
• Must be able to interact with customers in a professional manner.
• Secure all materials and equipment needed, keep in good condition.
• Must be punctual, responsible and have a positive, can-do attitude.
• Demonstrate dependability and efficient work practices.
• Must be able to read and understand safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.

Landscape Maintenance Crew Leader

This position is a full-time position directly responsible for managing field operations as well as interacting with office personnel. The crew leader position is responsible for overall property maintenance, accurate record keeping, submittal of daily paperwork and accurate cost accounting of daily labor. The Crew Leader is also responsible for meeting hours requirements. This position requires the ability to handle complex jobs, specialty equipment and at times, demanding clients. This position must be able to work effectively in a team environment and is responsible for producing quality landscape services that meet or exceed the expectations of both the client and Timberline Landscaping, Inc.

Landscape Construction Crew Leader

Landscape construction crew leaders are responsible for leading crews on all sorts of landscaping projects. They distribute instructions throughout the team, communicate with the Project Manager, and ensure completion of the job from start to finish according to the SOW.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

2+ years of experience in landscaping
Review and understand scope of work with Project Manager.
Understand project design, and documents, i.e. plans and specs.
Understand any unique materials and/or methods may be used on projects.
Participate in pre-job planning with Project Manager to help ensure that projects can proceed smoothly and efficiently.
Understand expectations and goals communicated from Project Manager.
Understand project scheduling.
Participate in assessing equipment needs and preferences to optimize efficiency according to conditions and situation.
Accurately report project production to Project Manager.
Accurately document your team’s time.
Conduct daily team huddles to organize specific assignments to team members, discuss safety, assign specific tasks, communicate production goals.
Communicate changing conditions and arising challenges thoroughly with Project Manager.
Ensure quality expectations are defined, understood, and are being met and exceeded.
Ensure that customers are completely satisfied through effective communication, relationship building and regular site visits as well as the ability to develop customer rapport.

REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge of plants and horticulture
Standard and proper planting techniques
Ability to install proper drainage and storm water paths
Knowledge of hardscapes; to include retaining walls, walkways, and paver installations
Ability to install site amenities; such as garbage cans, water fountains, landscape lighting, and other furnishings
Ability to install various water features; such as fountains and ponds
Required to have or obtain LICT within one year of hire
Landscape Industry Certified in Softscape (commercial) or Hardscape (residential) a plus
